Wash the mutton pieces thoroughly.
Marinate the mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and spices.
Soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions until golden brown
Add marinated mutton to the pan and cook until tender.
Boil the rice with whole spices until 70% cooked.
Layer the rice and mutton in a pot.
Seal the pot and cook on low heat (dum) for 30 minutes.
